You know, there is a problem I have with people who say that George Bush lied about the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. I have to make an analogy to make it clear to you what I am talking about.

Suppose you were reading a newspaper and some scientist had discovered a new species. You read through the list of the characteristics of the creature and at the bottom, it said that the newly discovered critter is an insect. You read back through the characteristics and the article says that the creature has eight legs. You look at the picture of the so-called new creature and it shows eight legs. That bothers you enough for you to run down the scientist and ask him via email how that is possible, because insects have six legs. The guys says back that he felt like calling it an insect and no one had stopped him from saying it was an insect, so there. In short, Reality said that the newly discovered creature was a spider and the scientist labeled it as an insect.

What I am getting at here is that there is one piece of information in the story about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq that does NOT make sense. The French and Germans did NOT want war in Iraq. Saying that they MIGHT have wanted war is insane. France and Germany were selling a LOT of stuff to Saddam. Their intelligence services were all over Iraq. When Bush went before the UN, why didn't the French and Germans simply say that Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction? It would have undercut the call for war. Why didn't they do that? Simple. The French and Germans thought Saddam had the weapons, as well. Bush did not lie us into war, he just screwed up on ONE of the MANY reasons why we should have attacked Saddam.

What convinced me that Bush had made a mistake, instead of lying was Tommy Franks. Yeah, the general in charge of liberating Iraq. Franks went to the Middle East and asked everyone and his dog as to whether Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. Every ruler said that he did. Even the Massad said that Saddam had the weapons. If Franks was convinced that Saddam did NOT have the weapons, then he would have said so by now. I mean, the guy is a straight arrow. I would believe him more than I would believe any of our politicians including Bush.

I have gotten to the point that I cannot care whether Saddam had weapons of mass destruction or not. He wanted them. He was in direct contact with terrorists. He would have sold them the means of wiping us out if he could. He's better deposed than in power. Make no mistake, I did not say that Saddam was involved in 9/11, BUT he was involved with all manner of terrorist and he would have been more than happy to sell them any type of nasty surprise that he could have come up with.

Getting rid of Saddam was a good idea. The three hundred thousand people Saddam killed and dropped in mass graves call to me across the aether. Why are you not moved by their cries for justice? America cannot go about the world making it a safe place for Democracy, but in this case, there seems to have been no choice unless we... Forget it. You're probably not listening. This is a stupid debate, because we're there in Iraq and we have to stay there until they can take care of themselves. I draw your attention to Taiwan and South Korea. Both countries have histories like Iraq. I am praying that history repeats itself for the Iraqi people.
