Pop Quiz: Are We All Related?

I said in my first show:
Every human alive today is descended from 3000 humans who lived 50000 years ago on the east coast of Africa. That means to me that we are all related, one way or another.
Do you agree or disagree with this?
If it is on religious grounds that you disagree with me, where are you getting your information? Are you SURE that your religious text is untainted by the passage of time?
If your disagreement is based on something close to science, please give me the links. I'm interested. And please, don't say it was 70000 years ago instead of 50000. That's a quibble. The Seven Daughters of Eve is my source. The best guess I have heard is that the emigration out of Africa began about 50000 years ago. The Aborigines of Australia seem to indicate this hypothesis.
